Ok, so I am a new mom, my son is almost 4 months old now and I look at my body post-c section and I wonder to myself... what was I thinking, not loving my body BEFORE I was pregnant when all I can think about now is "man, I WISH I had that body back".
Isn't it the age old adage, Hindsight is 20/20?
Don't get me wrong, I am more happy than ever being a mom, I love my son and would not do anything differently. I am not on a diet kick right now as I am a PROUD breastfeeding mother and my main concern is his growth and development. I just wanted to start a discussion maybe about appreciating what you have when you have it, no matter what it is.
My fiance said to me the other night, life is about seasons, once you get through one season and enter another you cannot go back. I once had a pre-pregnancy body that was mostly fit but by no means perfect. I didn't appreciate what I had, constantly wanting to be thinner, more toned etc. now I am in another season, I love the stage of life and am ok with my body though I know that I would like to tone up a bit now that I have the go ahead from my doctor. I just regret not enjoying my pre-pregnancy season... a season I will never be in again.
So my message to everyone is, enjoy the season. Appreciate what you have when you have it no matter what it is because there is something to be learned, something to be gained and something to be appreciated from every season.
