Hi all,
I joined MFP a while ago, but this is the first week that I am really using it. I am looking for friends, diabetics and non-diabetics alike. I believe that being part of an active community will help me through this journey. My goal on this journey is not only to lose weight, but to decrease my medication. I am currently on insulin, Victoza and another pill. I am on the journey for health.
Thanks!!

Hi there bookerlr, nice to meet you, you have a great attitude.
It's great you made the decision to become more active using this program to help you reach your goals as part of your journey.
This is a great community to get to know others, especially those sharing our condition.
I'm an insulin dependent T2 diabetic diagnosed in 1982 and found the MyFitnessPal program to be a fantastic tool towards living a healthier lifestyle as a diabetic. I've not only met and exceeded my weight loss goals since joining, I've also reduced my diabetes medications significantly by applying this program and sticking to it like glue.
If your T2, there's a very caring and supportive T2 group if your interested, with many people sharing the same goals as you.

Feel free to add me as a friend if your interested, I welcome the opportunity to help you reach your goals.
You got this. Good luck!0 -

Thanks for the group suggestion bdubya55, I will check it out as well.

Hello nice to meet you. I have type2 diabetes, I found out in April of this year and was scared. I went cold turkey and everything in my life that took a negative affect on my life and I wanted to change. My grandfather had diabetes and never changed his eating habits and lived a long full life, he was 79 when he passed. I was 250 when I started and this morning the scale said 222. I work out four days a week and eat 1700 calories a day.
I'm on metfomin, I take one pill a day, but soon to be off. My doctor said im doing well with just diet and exersice. I had a nice big stomach that is now way smaller.0
