This isn't something I'm personally interested in, since I already have a radar, but may be helpful to some in here.
Garmin's new Varia has a 1080p camera built in. It can be always on, always off, or radar activated meaning it will record whenever there's traffic behind you. Worst case battery life is 6 hours, with everything on all the time, but can be extended.
Again, I'm not personally interested, so I haven't looked much into it.
