Ok first... Stop making excuses. Being injured has nothing to do with gaining weight. What you put into (or don't put into) your mouth determines your weight. Which brings me to tip 2. Put down the fork. Plug your stats into MFP and find your calories deficit. You have X calories to work with. Eat what you want but you put down the fork at that number. Every day. Thirdly... You work around your injuries. I've seen people in the gym doing one arm dumbbell presses with the other arm in a cast. Or Hack squats with their good leg. So grab a set of dumbbells' and get to work. Good luck.

Tip - eat for the situation you currently are in, not the calorie level when you could be more active.

Tricks - there are no tricks! Just a calorie deficit to lose weight, rehab to heal your injury, rebuilding your fitness level back from where it is now to where you want to be.

A tip - don’t hate your body. Not because it is injured and not because it is not in the shape you want it to be in at the moment. Appreciate it for all the amazing strength it has even when injured and consider making your goal to eat and train/rehab it so that it can do even more wonderful things in the future. Make a list of what those will be to inspire you. Then find an understanding coach/PT trainer or doctor who will tell you the correct exercises to do to start rehabbing without further injury and do it.

From your photo you look like you are on the younger side (under 20?). If so and you are still growing consult your doctor about the proper calorie and macro level to set your weight plan for so that you don’t lose muscle or impact bone strength while trying to lose. It would obviously undermine your training.

It's hard when you're on the bench, especially as a young person. You may have wrapped your whole social life around soccer and when it's gone that's a huge hole to fill. Gaining 50 pounds in six months is pretty epic, regardless.

And now, you have to pay the piper. No way out other than to eat a lot less.

I'd start with one or two things. #1 - Log food. All of it. The box of cookies, the bag of Cheetos, the two liter of Coke, log it.
#2 Study that food diary and see where you can cut back. I'd start with, "I'm not drinking my calories." All the sugary drinks are first to go. :)

Next week, move on to #3, whatever you think that might be.

How are the injuries now? Can you move more? Anything will help.
