Hello, and welcome to the MFP Community!
With those goals, and equipped with the kind of skills it's certainly taken you to achieve long-term goals like raising a big family and building a business, I think you've come to the right place to find success.
As background, I'm 66 and not new here: I came here at age 59, starting out class 1 obese, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, high blood pressure, some osteoarthritis, a torn meniscus, sleep interruption insomnia that persisted even after sleep apnea treatment.
Within a year, without changing my exercise (already active while obese), or changing the range of foods I ate (just fewer calories of them, in various ways), I was at a healthy weight (5'5", weight in the 120s pounds), and have been at a healthy weight for 6+ years since. That, after around 3 previous decades of overweight/obesity, and while severely hypothyroid (but properly medicated for it).
My health markers (lipids, blood pressure) were solidly in the healthy/normal range even before I'd lost all of the weight, and they've stayed at good levels since, too. Calorie counting has the potential to work at any age.
One place you might "meet" some like-minded people our age would be on this thread:
https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10718336/60-yrs-and-up#latest
Don't be dismayed if you open that up, and see old posts. Like any long-running discussion thread here, the new posts are at the end, on the high numbered pages. The discussion is still very active, and includes people at all stages of weight management or fitness, supporting each other.\
Wishing you much success here!0 -
My granny is like you; she has six sons and four daughters. She was strong and healthy until she was 65 years. She has never used medication in her life. Therefore, we take her to a massage therapist. It helped her get back to normal life. Now she can walk without any discomfort. So for you, It is now important to take care of both your body and mind. In my opinion, getting a massage is better. It helps in relaxing and rejuvenating your body and mind. Massage also helps to reduce stress and relieve pain without any side effects.0
