Skinny Cow Sundae tummy troubles!

I've been enjoying Skinny Cow double choc and caramel vanilla sundaes for about 5 months now, usually eating 1 after dinner.
However during the past 6 weeks or so I've sometimes been experiencing quite a LOT of activity in my lower stomach about 30 minutes after eating them which results in a dash to the bathroom.
I'm unsure though if it actually IS these sundaes that are causing it as it doesn't happen every time.

Anyone else experience this?

Thank you.

    Could you be lactose intolerant?

This is how lactose affects me. I'm intolerant.

This is how maltodextrine affects a lot of people. If you want to be really entertained, read reviews of Haribo sugar-free gummy bears. Those have maltitol in them as opposed to maltodextrine, but you will get the idea.

It could be the lactose, but do you have this reaction to regular ice cream/dairy, or just Skinny Cow?

Sugar alcohols (certain low-calorie sweeteners) can also have that effect for some people. (They may be listed as erythritol, hydrogenated starch hydrolysates, isomalt, lactitol, mannitol, maltitol, sorbitol, xylitol . . . .). From what I see on the web, those sundaes do seem to contain those. Even inulin (which seems to be on the ingredient list, too) can be a problem for some people, via an interaction with an individual's particular gut microbiome.

It's possible for any of us to develop a sensitivity to a food or ingredient with the passage of time (or via repetition) that we previously tolerated OK - could apply to either lactose, sugar alcohols, or even inulin.

To the extent that one's gut microbiome may be part of the reaction, adding or eliminating some probiotic foods/supplements might be part of the problem or its solution, but I'm speculating when I say that.

oh I love those sundaes - often have one as an evening dessert

They do have sorbitol in them according to ingredient list on the box - and that does have known side abdominal side effects for some people.

I have no issues from them but I dont have 1 every day, probably once or twice a week.
