Insulin Free Test

I recently went to the doctor to get a panel of blood work done. I went in complaining of fatigue-even more so after eating. I have a history of my blood sugar dropping (shaking, sweating, etc.) He ordered a panel of blood tests and said that I don't have to fast for them.
They called this morning saying my insulin free/total insulin was 38 and he is sending me to an endocrinologist because the level is high. My blood sugar level was 70-I took the blood test about an hour after eating. I guess my question is can they do diabetic testing non-fasted?

I'm not quite sure what that test was - and by BSL of 70 I presume you mean what we in Australia call 7 (I know US has different way of recording this)
However HBA1c - a blood test which, in simplified terms, gives your average BSL over the last 3 months, is non fasting.
as well as being done on known diabetics to review progress, it can also be used as a diagnostic tool.1
