Like figuring out food, nutrition and meal prep (shopping, cooking and planning) I also am trying to figure out how to post, connect with a group and plan what forums to read. It is all so overwhelming. I think I will just eat a bowl of oatmeal, measured and cooked 1 cup: no sugar, no milk and simple.
Having lost 40 pounds, beginning November 2020, I am experiencing a slow weight "creep" returning. Today, I am setting a goal of increasing my water intake and tracking on MFP. The most difficult part of getting healthy for me is to not get overwhelmed by too much information. It is easy to go "down the rabbit hole" trying to find the right answer. I am new and thank you for listening.

Welcome @zinwonderful! I totally get what you mean about getting overwhelmed and lost in the weeds. When I was first introduced to MFP prior to getting hired, it was a totally new experience for me- I'm by no means a health & fitness expert.
What I will say is, the MFP app/website has a lot going on, absolutely- But not all of it is going to be relevant or useful to you. Some of our most successful members, who I have had the pleasure of meeting in person, use only the most basic tools in the app- Logging food, tracking weight, adding water. Just through that tracking and accountability alone, they have had ENORMOUS success.
Now if the more advanced features seem like they will be helpful- Great! That's what they're there for, after all. But if you find that you're getting frustrated or like a certain aspect of the program isn't particularly intuitive or helpful for your process, I think I can speak for our entire team when I say that it's okay not to use it. The tools provided are there purely for your benefit, and shouldn't be a source of stress on top of the stress of trying to improve and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Cheers!0
