Hi, newbie here with weight maintenance issues.

Hi everyone, my name is Carl and I just recently joined the site here.

I’ve been going to the gym on a regular basis since I was 21 but have recently found it increasingly difficult to stay motivated and maintain a healthy weight. I have never had problems losing weight, it has always been a lack of motivation once I achieved my goal or started to get close. I seem to inevitably slip back into my old habits of poor nutrition and less frequent trips to the gym after a while.

Wondering if there any other folks out there who have a similar issue regarding maintaining a healthy weight. I’ve gone from 228 to 190 to 212 to 188 and back up to 210 lbs now in the last couple years. A lot of the extra weight came from the stress of having two kids and gaining some sympathy weight with my wife. I’m 5’11” and would like to achieve the goal of weighing 175-180 lbs by next June. I know how to get to that point, but what do you other folks who have lost weight in the past done to ensure you kept it off?
