Carbs and sugars

Quick question…. When looking at macros on MFP, are carbs and sugars tracked separately? Food instance, today I had 23 carbs and 8 sugars. Are the sugars counted in with the carbs? Did I have 31 carbs/sugars or 23 and 8 respectively?

    .. carbs are total carbs no matter they type. You can track sugar as an additional item in your food log diary if you want to know how much ... but it would then be total sugar and not just added sugar.
