Can't turn off the Red "Notifications" (number 1)

Started yesterday.

I know there have been recent changes to the way notifications are listed (aggregating the number of new responses in each thread instead of listing them separately) but even if I "Mark all Read" and go to every thread/last post in the list, the red number 1 still shows.

Something's broken.

It was fixed and now it's doing it again. *lesigh*
