Looking for clean eating friends. Add me!

This Sunday I am going to clean out my cabinets of all junk and processed crap and then I'm gonna go grocery shopping. And starting Monday, I am going to give clean eating another try. I really wanna do it! It's just so hard at the beginning. I think I lasted a week last time. lol.

I know I am going to have a lot of trouble giving up the processed condiments like mayo, salad dressing, sour cream, etc. I would really like to find some good recipes for mayo, ranch dressing and taco seasoning. Those are things we use A LOT and I would like to make my own clean versions but there are SO many recipes out there, I don't know which ones are really any good.

So anyway... I am just looking for some clean eating friends to chat with and share advice, recipes, etc...so I'll have more motivation to stick with it this time!

If you found so much restriction so difficult the first time around, what makes this time different? Why not continue to eat the foods you enjoy, not label foods (dirty, clean, bad, good) and eat a calorie deficit? (If your goal is weight loss)

I used to do that. I lost 107 pounds eating whatever I wanted, just limiting portions. So yeah, it worked for weight loss. I gained some back (as you can see from my ticker) during my last pregnancy and now I am trying to get it back off, plus some.

Clean eating didn't work for me the first time because I gave up too easily. I want to try again and MAKE it work this time, not just for weight loss, but overall health. I realize I can lose weight eating processed foods... but I would really like to stop consuming all of those added preservatives and chemicals. I believe that stuff can cause cancer and other health problems so I really want to limit processed foods as much as possible from here on out.

thats the kicker, good for you. i dont eat 100% clean and don't think anyone should because it's really not sustainable, but I subscribe to the 80/20 or even 90/10 rule of thumb - 80-90% cal from whole foods and the rest can be whatever. That way I'm getting my proper nutrition but I'm not killing myself about it.

feel free to friend me! good luck!

I'm not 100 percent there yet but I am working my way. I will never be 100% because I am not making my own ketchup or dressing for my salad but I will be close. It worked for me before and I felt more healthy. I tend to have problems loosing weight eating process carbs. So I do better with vegis and meat. You can add me if you want. I signed up for Jenny Craig and decided I did not want to start eating processed again. so I am eating one of there meals a day until they are gone and then just vegies and meat for me.

I think it's definitely better for you and your digestion. Processed foods are notoriously low in fiber, high in sodium and lower in nutrients. However, I love a good burrito and I don't know what they put in papalote sauce -- except that it tastes just like my mom's Mexican rice (so probably plenty of sodium!) and it's so good.

Feel free to add me, but I eat junk occasionally. Then it makes me sick and I don't eat it again for months.
