Thoughts on Floor Press

My bench is lagging behind my other lifts and I've read the floor press can help improve your bench (I did see one discussion saying it's generally not worth adding, but that was an outlier). I added it to the end of my press day today and enjoyed it much more than I expected; dumbbell single arm. Looking for thoughts on adding it to my program permanently, so my push days would be bench, squat, calf lift, OHP, leg press, french press, then floor press. My thought is if it doesn't negatively affect my main lifts it's a good add. FWIW I would be progressively overloading it just as my other lifts. Thanks in advance.

    My personal opinion:

Unless you or someone you know can diagnose your weak points in your main lift and then add supplemental/Accessory lifts to target those points, I personally think you should add the floor press and see what happens.

This lift has helped some and others don't see the benefit but in these situations all you can really do is trial and error to see what happens.

My first step would be to look at my bench press to improve my bench press....

Technique - well worth watching the Jennifer Thompson Bench Press 101 tutorials.
Then consider your volume and intensity. (Personally from experience I know I need a lot of volume to progress beyond a certain point, ideally x3 a week.)

There's no real downside to experimenting with accessory lifts though, especially as you say you enjoyed it. We do respond differently and you might find your key to success or just learn something.
It just wouldn't be my first option.

I always go on the floor when lifting heavy as I feel my chest works more and reacts better to being on a bench not to mention it's safer to
