You know, when I was a younger man I ran on the high school track team. Throughout the first week or so of practices I could barely walk and my whole body was sore beyond belief. But after those initial practices, which weren't particularly intense by the way, I was never really sore for the rest of the season, and yet my workouts became more and more intense and my running times improved consistently from week to week. I suppose my point is that your body will adapt and be more capable of quicker recovery the more you workout, so you don't always need to feel sore for hours or days afterward to have gotten a good workout.
Hmm, good point... *sad face*0 -
Fat burner deluxe on the workout trainer app has me sore. So not used to the push ups. The app has all kinds of programs to pick from, from moderate to intense, I went for intense. Best of luck to you!0

Any good weight lifting program that uses a progressive overload system will make you as sore as you push yourself. Throw in them drop sets until you can only lift the barbell for additional soreness. *thumbs up*0

Lots of squats.0

I was going to say. A set of 5x5 squats or deadlifts can knock you flat in, like, 10 minutes.
Easy peasy.0 -
Lots of squats.
Do 100 squats. If you can sit on the toilet the next day without wincing and grabbing for the towel bar, do 200. Repeat. At some point you'll be sore. :laugh:0 -

Yes. I love squats. I recommend handicap stalls for newbies.0 -
Went for a jog, i'll save the squats for tomorrow... Good call on those! They kill me, haha!

I do that. Except, my 2 and a half year old is watching...and laughing at me.0 -
Trade you. I can barely walk after a particularly tough squat session yesterday. Trying to use the toilet is miserable because it hurts to sit down lol. I recommend Body Pump if you're just starting out.0

My 4 year old begs me to hold her when I do it(when she's around, lol) but she doesn't realize she's getting too big now! lol0 -

Im just starting out, did a Body Pump class Thursday morning and spent all day Friday hurting all over and barely able to move. Feel much better today but it was a shock to the system that's for sure!0

While I confess being a little stiff and sore is always a good feeling... It really isn't a good way to gauge how effective a workout is.
It's mostly just telling you - you used muscles you haven't used in a while or used that way. As you get in better shape you get less and less sore more just stuff and crunchy.
Just a public service reminder :-)0
