Connecting Fitbit to MyFitnessPal

I for the life of me don’t know why I can’t connect my Fitbit and MFP together. I followed the steps and it says it’s connected but it’s not. The check mark is still checked on my Apple health app. Every time I try it just brings me back to the screen saying it’s connected.
