Apron belly Success stories

I'm just wondering if there is any kind of information or success stories out there that do not involve having surgery to get rid of an "apron belly"?
I had a hysterotomy several years ago and gained some weight and then lost some weight and now I have this apron belly which I'm horrified by. I want to know what worked for you. I want to see before and after pictures. Everywhere I look, I just see that surgery is needed and I don't want to do that if I don't have to.

@Cathleen669 I too had a hysterectomy and gained a bunch of weight but I thought it was from what I put in my mouth, not the hysterectomy. I am losing weight now (about 100 pounds) and am assuming I will have an apron belly. To add insult to injury, I also have a lovely 8 inch vertical scar on top of it.
I’ve lurked around on the forums and it seems if you lose enough weight and are patient (as in years) surgery doesn’t have to be the only option. I guess it all varies from person to person and how much they have to lose. Good luck!5 -
I have the same problem. I was researching it recently and found this article. Hope it helps.

thank you all. I'm just curious with exercise and diet changes how the before and afters look. I'm working on both now and hope for a change.2

No hysterectomy here but I have carried 6 children to full term and heavy lifting is what helped my apron shrink.5

AnnPT77 and some other awesome folks posted in a thread regarding loose skin that also covers the belly (somewhat.) https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10809632/loose-skin-50lbs-loss-at-60-4-years-maintenance/p12

Agree with @Chef_Barbell
I’m not in her league but the lifting I’ve done has tightened my body tremendously.
I workout at the gym twice a week, nothing spectacular but I try to challenge myself.
I still have extra skin that I’m not going to bother having removed, but the apron is completely gone. I can no longer roll it like a cinnamon bun, and as time goes by, I’m able to pull less and less of it out like elastic. (I’ve been in maintenance for about two years.)
Heavier weights (not 5 pound hand weights), core exercises, cardio, all have helped eliminate the apron.
BTW I started weight loss at 56. Popular opinion would dictate that i shouldn’t have been able to lose weight at all, much less dump the apron and batwings. It can be done by anyone, at any age.13 -
@springlering62 that's a relief!!!1
