MFP Shows Incorrect Number of Steps (AppleWatch)

So I've just started getting back into using MFP and the # of steps it shows is way off compared to what my AppleWatch and Health app say. For example, they both say I have about 4,200 steps while MFP shows the exact same # on the main dashboard, but when I go into the diary it shows like 7,800 steps!!
Any idea why there is a discrepancy?

We are aware that steps tracked using an Apple device do not match between the Dashboard/Newsfeed and Diary pages. Your step count should display correctly on your Dashboard and Newsfeed pages, but there is a delay in step count syncing to the diary page/calorie adjustment.

So....a whole year later and I'm having the same problem. The diary numbers in my case are significantly understating activity. For example, yesterday my Watch showed 14,805 steps but the diary only shows 6,873. (Yes...I am syncing Watch to MFP...) This seems to be a significant problem that does actually undermine the usefulness of the App. When do you expect to fix this?2

I just got a Garmin and am having the same problem! My watch will say 13,000 steps while MyFitnessPal says i only walked 4,000! It also only says I’ve burned 3 calories after burning like 500!0

So no one has an answer to this? I am having the same problem.1

I am having the same issue. The fitness app on my iPhone says I have 12k steps but MyFitnessPal is showing 3k steps. I tried manually syncing but doesn’t help.0

I am having this issue as well. It appears it has been a known problem for 1.5 years. Is this just something we have to accept or is there a way to fix it?0

Is there a fix yet? My Apple Watch says 12,107 step and MFP says 2,997 steps0

From what I can tell it seems that it counts steps from the phone and not pull in from Apple Health. I know in the settings there is a selection for iPhone, Add a device, and Don't track steps. When I have my iPhone on me, steps are added, but not from what is in the Apple Health.
