I feel like i hit a wall i have losing a pound or two a week. But now I am stuck at 196lbs. I run or jog almost everyday, also run the stairs at the local track field. When i go to the gym i do cardio like the elliptical( which I love) and I lift weights and do some yoga. I need to break out of the 190's. I have started cutting back or cutting out white bread sugar dairy and salt. I notice these foods give me a bigger belly and just add weight in unwanted places. I need a way to break out of this rut. I was looking into boxing or kick boxing but im not really sure what i will be getting into. I need something that i think will make me sweat a lot. Any really burn calories and tone all over. Has anyone done boxing or kick boxing? What should i expect? Do i need to prepare myself before i actually get into it? I like my current work out but can't figure out why I am stuck. Maybe I should increase what I'm doing run more, lift more, or change what im eating. Any advice would help?

i have no idea about kick boxing but my daughter used to be a boxer. boxing training looked tough to me. shuttle runs, skipping, medicine ball and using the pads etc. she'd be a sweaty mess when she was finished - go for it0

I absolutely love kickboxing!!! It may be my favorite type of group training of all time. Its tough, its fun, and I feel awesome and exhausted all at the same time after kicking and punching a heavy bag.
Losing weight though... this is where you have to focus on what you're eating. I noticed you said you're cutting back on white bread and such. Overall, are you eating at a deficit?0 -
instead of picking something that will make you sweat a lot, how about picking something that you think you will enjoy? you'll be much more likely to both stick with it and give it your all. is boxing/kick boxing something that you think you'll enjoy?0

I love kickboxing. I like it because it is a combination of self-defense fighting, but also dancing (because you are kicking your legs in lots of ways and quick combinations). So, I like it a lot. I prefer it over zumba. Zumba is a dance work out, but kickboxing is better for my dance training because I can actually work on my kicking skills. It's good for your body and your brain to do physical activities that involve learning choreography. I would say that kickboxing is like using self defense moves in a choreographed dance. It's like Capoeira, they actually get some of the moves from Capoeira. So, if that sounds like something you would like, then give it a try. It releases stress to fight, and it feels really good in a lot of ways. I have actually defended myself successfully from an assault by kicking effectively. So, it's good to keep up with those skills in case you ever need it, but even if you don't (which is great) it's still good for your confidence.0
