What am I doing wrong

Hello all, I am sure this is a question posted on here a lot, but I need some help. I currently am trying to lose 20 lbs (would be happy with 10), as I am just a tad bit what BMI chart considers overweight. I eat fairly healthy, stay within 1200 calories (net), and run usually 5-6 days a week for 40 minutes. I am 5'5" and am about 152 lbs. I have been here for 2 months. What is up with this. Why won't I lose weight? I live a very sedentary life aside from my workouts, but I burn between 400-500 calories per day. Please help. My diet consists of some meat, a lot of veggies, and a little rice and things like rice. Sometimes I reward myself with snacks, but I seldom go over my calorie count.

Well, your diary is empty with the exception of a couple of days where you have logged 200-400 calories. Unless you're logging your food, how can you be sure of how many calories you are consuming?0

Check your bmr and see what you should be consuming.0

Weigh and measure your portions, log everything. Take measurements not use scale.0

1. If you're not logging how do you know you're under your calorie goal?
2. What do you call "little" rice? Do you weigh it? If you don't weigh your portions how do you know how much you are consuming?
3. Are you logging your exercise? If not, how do you know how many calories you are burning?
Just because you don't have a lot to lose doesn't mean you don't need to be consistent - in fact the less you have to lose the more careful you have to be, because if you need to lose, say, 100lb then even small changes can make a big difference initially.
If you use MFP as it is set up to be used - accurately and consistently log your food and exercise, keep to your calorie goals and, unless you have a medical condition, you WILL lose weight because you will be eating at a calorie deficit.
There are loads of us on here because our portion sizes crept up so that even if we THOUGHT we were eating sensibly ("Oh, I never eat biscuits", for example) we were eating more calories a day than we burned. Its only by being honest with ourselves through logging that we can really see what is going in and how much effort we need to put in to burning it off!0 -
I myself am having trouble with portions, but I am staying within my calories. It's hard, so good luck.0
