Slow start

I downloaded this app months ago but never used any of the social features. Going at this alone has been rough and there’s been a lot of discouragement. I figure if I take advantage of all the app offers, I may have better success.

So what's slowing you down? Are you really committed or just winging it? Do you have an actual plan of action? Most people who don't do well usually have no plan and aren't fully committed.

    Welcome to the social side!

My success snowballed when I got engaged in the boards.

I asked the stupid questions- and then realized that other people were holding their collective breath, waiting for someone else to ask. I got great feedback, answers, direction to more resources.

I hesitantly asked to friend a few users who I respected or who seemed to be on the same arc as me. We share what’s successful, what we struggle with, our “oh duh” moments.

I’ve even picked up some great snack ideas: @k8richer ’s popcorn with butter and soy sauce is currently my fave, but I’ve been dividing a batch of @Noreenmarie1234 ’s pumpkin pudding every afternoon, too.

Engaging on the boards has been a win/win/win for me.

Hey @MariMonarch I can totally relate, i've been using MFP for 10 years but never engaged with the community, now I'm mid-30's I know I'm gonna need more than just diet and willpower to get to goal weights, I'm more concerned with my strength/health/fitness than weight.

Hopefully getting more engaged will bring you more success, fingers crossed for you!
