Hi,
I am about 4 stone overweight (female) and have switched to a higher protein diet.
I am not sure how many gms of protein I should be aiming for a day though, any idea? I am eating carbs, but reduced them substantially and am trying to pick the more healthier ones.
I have only been logging my diary for the last couple of days so please feel free to have a look and give me any advice
Thanks

There is a calculator at:
http://www.howmuchprotein.com/daily-protein-intake.php
Which can be taken with a grain of salt. It's going to vary from person to person and you are going to get a variance of answers. The big thing is what is your activity level like? Are you lifting weights?
You are ingesting all this protein but what are you going to do with all this protein? Are you going to put it to use? Are you going to turn it into Amino Acids, then into Urea then just pee it out after your kidney's have processed it and completely waste it? We need more info! :-D0 -
Hi
I had a personal trainer so the program I am going to undertake is hard going. 1 hour x 5 time a week. Pretty much like bootcamp where it is a mixture of cardio and weights (heavy weights, low reps, bearly no break) so the whole 60 minutes my heartrate is high.0 -
Just as a follow on from that, it is hard going if you are 4 stone over weight.....0

I go by 1g/lb of LEAN MASS. If you know your bf% (roughly) you can find out how much lean mass you have here:
