Look up Dean Ornish "Undo It". For heart health, a breakdown with less than 30 percent fat, usually about 20.

Without knowing very much, high Trigs are generally a sign of eating in excess and particularly a diet high in carbohydrates. Cholesterol is less of a worry imo. Weight loss and reducing carbs in your diet will reduce your triglycerides and have an effect on the particle size of your LDL in a positive way even though it may not show in a reduction of LDL-C.

For me, just losing down to a healthy body weight brought triglycerides and cholesterol solidly into the normal range, without any intentional special manipulation of macros.

I do make it a point to get a reasonable minimum of protein and healthy fats, plus plenty of varied, colorful veggies/fruits, because overall good nutrition is IMO healthful.

I think of my protein/fat goals as gram minimums, don't care at all where carbs fall . . . but looking backwards at my MFP nutrient reports, I end up not far from the MFP default percents, FWIW.

The Ornish plan has been an ongoing money maker for this guy despite it's dubious scientific backing. The original poster is better off seeking the advice of a nutrionist rather than some influencer pushing a magic plan that has been debunked over and over.
