    Hi, Tony. Welcome to MFP.

    Two suggestions.

First: Don’t think of it as a diet. That implies temporary. So many reach goal, relax, and revert to old habits, regaining all losses and then some. Make this something sustainable that you’re willing to continue. Take “diet” out of your lexicon.

Never ever ever compare yourself to anyone else. Everyone’s journey is different.

You’ll lose weight faster than some, slower than others. You’ll lose it on different places in your body, depending on your genetics. You’ll “fall off the wagon” and pick yourself up the next day on a different timeline than they have, or you may compare yourself to someone who is so strict or brutal with their meals and/or snacks that when their dam bursts, it really bursts.

You’ll lose your mind comparing yourself to some users. There’s several lady lifters here I’m seriously jealous of, but ya know what? I’m on a different path, older, different body type, different goals. I’m also not willing to put in the effort that they do. So I turn that jealousy into admiration for all they can achieve, and continue on my merry way.

I guess what I’m saying is, take this slowly and thoughtfully, don’t rush it, and make it sustainable.

It has to be a life change for the better, there's no quick fix.
