Couple of Questions

Im new to MFP and had a couple of questions- thought it would be better to ask here rather than Google…

*Is there a way to create a “favorites” list for foods for the foods you eat on a regular basis.

**I prepare foods in an air fryer rather than frying it on the stove. Would the caloric value be different for something prepared in the air fryer? Ex: fried eggs

    The app will automatically show your recent foods or your frequent foods (there's a drop-down right under the barcode and quick add buttons).

    As for air frying: it doesn't change the nutritional value of your food. It will influence the weight of your finished dish (different amount of water content) but if you're putting in the same amount of raw ingredients, the total calorie count will be the same.
    However, if you use a different amount of cooking oil, that will obviously influence the calorie count.

    MFP will remember your consistent foods, you can copy and paste food from different days, and you can save meals as well. Sometimes I will just save a meal as a recipe to make the screen easier to look at.

    As for the nutritional value of cooked vs uncooked foods, nothing about them changes unless you add something to them. So if you added oil to the eggs, you would need to count the oil and eggs.

    ^^ Supporting what others have said about MFP automatically creating frequent and recent food lists.

    If you eat a fried egg, don't use a "fried egg" entry from the database, because you have no idea how much cooking fat/oil the person who created entry accounted for. Find an egg entry (choose the right size) and enter the amount of cooking fat/oil you used separately. If you use a lot, you'll have to decide how much you think you're eating and how much is left in the pan. I only use as much as I actually need, and assume I'm eating all of it. Sometimes (depending on what I'm eating) I might pour the few drops of fat from the pan onto something on my plate (like grits or toast).
