Is there a way to just add calories ( ex. 500 ) as burned calories through a workout without having to select the routine?

At this time there is not a way to simply add exercise burned calories, such as the quick add calories for food, to your diary. However, what you can do is create a new generic exercise and label it something such as "quick add exercise calories". You can then use that exercise and put in any calorie total you like by tapping directly on the calories burned field and over riding it with the specific calories you'd like to add.

To add a new exercise go to the "cardiovascular" section, then "create new exercise". Since this will be an individual estimate, it will be for your personal database and not the main database. You can also add in a new Strength exercise via the Strength section, however our program does not provide calories for Strength exercise. For more information on this please see: https://myfitnesspal.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032625431-Why-dont-you-calculate-calories-burned-for-strength-training

If you are interested in devices that can track your actual use of calories, you may want to consider one of our third party integrations. Several of our integrations offer solutions for monitoring your calorie burn over the course of the day, and can update your MyFitnessPal calorie goals based on this data.

On the site you can find out more about our integrations at http://www.myfitnesspal.com/apps. Or within our iOS and Android apps tap on "Apps and Devices" in the menu or "More" page.
