Slimfast

Hi - I started Slimfast sometime in march 2022 and so far have lost about 14 lbs. I'm not sure if anyone else does it. I need some more lunch or dinner ideas that around 450 - 550 calories. I want to lose another 35-40 lbs. I want some more friends and people that offer motivation.

Lean protein and a steamed veggie are the easiest meals. Or a salad with a lean protein.

Grilled pork steak with teriyaki, a simple side salad, and half a serving of rice or couscous if you need a starch

Shredded bbq chicken on a bun (Lewis Bakeries has a delicious Leto bun for 80 calories that tastes better than any of the much higher cal ones)

Chopped chicken, lettuce tomato in a low carb wrap

Deli ham turkey or chicken with a slice of cheddar in a wrap, again, with lettuce and tomato

Chopped roast (there’s a tasty roast available for 140 cal/four ounces) and grilled onions (I don’t use oil for browning or grilling) mixed with. Toasted onion seasoning, a slice of provolone, on a bun.

rotisserie chicken with a side salad and small scoop of potato salad

Grilled steak, small potato, side salad

Chicken with assorted vegetables, a squeeze of lemon and a dash of exotic seasoning cooked in a tajine.

A giant salad with chopped chicken or steak, feta and roasted edamame, with a zero cal dressing or with a sweet balsamic.

Half a box of tomato soup with a can of diced tomatoes added, and a couple of sliced and browned italian chicken sausages.

    Soooooo many options.

My food diary is open if you care to view some lunches or dinners. Please don’t be freaked out. I earn a lot of exercise calories, but dinners are reigned in since my husband is on MFP but doesn’t get the calories I get. We have identical dinners, though. I eat snacks out of view so he doesn’t feel bad.

I hope you can wean yourself off Slimfast.
It's basically just an expensive multi-vitamin with sweetener. Other than the multi-vitamin component, the main "nutrition" is the added milk. I love the way it misrepresents the Protein on the label - 10g ...yeah, if you add milk. It also uses palmitate, which I stay away from for environmental reasons. Not to mention all the other additives that I am not very educated about but I definitely know I don't need.
Look at the side-by-side nutrition comparison, with and without milk.
All my meals are 350-600. I eat the food I like when I want it. I have probably 25-30 "Meals" saved.
    My only "Rules" are,
    1. Eat more on exercise days
    2. Fiber, Protein, Fat, Carbs in the recommended portions. I do watch Saturated fats and Sodium, too.
    3. 500-800g of whole fruit and vegetables per day
    4. Limited grains (1-2 servings per day)

Figure out some meals and enter them into your FOOD page. Tweak portions till they hit your macros and calories. You can save them as "Meals" and re-use them over and over.

I just started Slim Fast again. I'm a teacher and a mom of Jr. High kids so the beginning of the school year is crazy for us. My diet suffers due to the stress and chaos. We are on the go a lot through the year with sports so I usually get tired of worrying about calories and eat fast food in the car on the way to whatever sport we are playing at the time. I lose weight in the summer (about 20 pounds) and gain it back in the fall. Every. Year.

Slim Fast helps me because I only have to think about one meal every day. Meal prep is super quick: Make 2 shakes in the morning, grab two or three snacks from the pantry that are ready to go and then cook one meal. Crock pot dinners work best for our schedule. Now, if I could just get through those busy times and keep myself on track, maybe I wouldn't have to restart every year. 😕

I like Slimfast. I use the Vitality shakes (vegan, just add water) and the meal bars, and eat fruit / snack bars / yogurt if hungry. I aim for around 1200 cals per day, so can have an evening meal of 500-600 cals depending on exercise. There's a load of nice recipes on the SF website, several you can batch cook amd freeze. Yes it's very lazy, but it does work for me. I try losing weight calorie counting and it does work, but I get bored of weighing and logging everything and making sure I'm getting enough macros through food. I enjoy the shakes for breakfast.

I also don’t want to think about what to make for more than one meal a day, so get I get the part of Slimfast making it quick and easy. You can do that with regular food, too, though. I only really only make one meal a day (lunch, our main meal). I have one of those oatmeal packets for breakfast and a salad for dinner. The salads to require some prep to be able to just throw them together each night. You were given some ideas for meals, really, just some protein, starch and veggies. My lunches are in the 400’s, calorie-wise. Fruit and yogurt for snacks.
