Hi everyone I'm new to MFP and wanting to lose weight. I'm not sure how to start as I've been off the train for a while; any help would be amazing

Hi and welcome! I would start by just tracking everything you eat here. Weigh it in grams for accuracy, as eyeballing sizes is a recipe for accidentally eating a lot more than you mean to. Practice doing that for a couple of weeks, and account for EVERYTHING, every bite, lick, etc. From there, calculate how many calories you should be eating using the MFP calculators, and start eating that much. Make adjustments to your existing meals by, say, reducing high calorie foods and increasing vegetables etc to bulk things out. Don't worry about protein, carbs etc at this stage. Calories are king when it comes to weight loss. Get your calories down through sensible swaps, and you'll get there. Good luck0
