Hi! I've been going through menopause for a little over 2 years (medically induced). Although I didn't have much weight to lose, I still lost 20lbs by doing intermittent fasting, eating very well and I exercise almost every day. It's what's been working for me. Everyone is different but if it's something that interests you there's a book called "Delay, Don't Deny" it explains it's benefits and how to start.
Menopause really sucks but for me the key to feeling good while going through it is to stay active and eat nutritional foods. Good luck, you can do it ❤4 -

I have the same problem so I did a little research and found this.
How many calories should a menopausal woman eat to lose weight?
A sedentary older woman in her 50s and 60s should consume about 1600 calories per day. If you're more active, bump that up to 1800 calories. To lose one pound per week, you need a daily 500-calorie deficit, through diet and exercise. I just recently joined MFP to help get my eating on track and my calories for the day are 1550 if I don't walk 30 minutes per day and around 1700 if I do.0 -
I am in menopause 53 and had a plateau of no weight loss for two years. A week ago I started counting my carbs and I was in shock. I was consuming way to many even though I was eating salads out to lunch and drinking diet lemonade. I think counting carbs is holding me responsible. I thought my light hot chocolate was good but it had 6 carbs. My Dr said stay below 50 to break the plateau and I am happy to report I am already down 7 in 6 days. My lunch was 90 carbs and I had no idea it was grilled chicken salad and light dressing and a diet lemonade. I am thankful I found this app to provide me a much needed wake up call.0

Did your doctor mention water weight?
Honestly, I lost 120ish lbs and my carb count was usually in the 200s...and over. In and out of menopause.
Also, congrats, OP. Menopause is awesome. Getting there can definitely suck tho. Still...I'm a big fan of it.
