Such a bad stress eater

I eat every\time I get stressed and it mostly happens at work where I dish up desserts and am around food for 40+ hours a week Do you know how hard it is to cut a cake and pie and portion cookies and pudding and everything but not eat it. I used to weigh 300 [pounds I have a serious issue with food I set up trays for patients at a therapy/retirement center and it's gotten so bad I need a new way to deal with stress. It's such a stressful position and I have to know a lot about nutritional diets and get to know all the new patients and what they like and set up the tray with the drink the entree soup fruit dessert bread and condiments for each person and it's a lot of memorizing and mistakes could become a huge deal. If I give certain ones raw fruit they could choke. I get free food and the cooks always offer me food. UGH! Plus my fiance has been out of work and I'm planning a wedding and I got really sick about a month ago and the people I work with call off a lot and don't want to do their jobs and it gets put on me so the kitchen runs smoothly so frustrating!

hi - I have a strange sounding suggestion - when you smell the food that can make you hungry.

So, put some Vicks vaporub under your nostrils and you wont be able to inahle the food.. ok thats step 1.

As for how delicious it may look, you have to detatch yourself from the food and look at it like a piece of paper.. When you look at a piece of blank paper, do you get hungry? so you have to do that with food.

When the food starts to tempt you in your mind, catch yourself right there, and do not go forward into yielding toward that temptation, just stop yourself, realize what you are doing, and think of food as benign, like its that piece of blank paper.

If you have to, leave the area till you can get ahold of yourself.
