    Hi!

You read and post on threads here that interest you, and people reply back. I've learned a lot here from reading, about nutrition, different weight management strategies, useful recipes, new kinds of exercise that sound fun and/or productive, etc. Or, you post questions - like you just did 😉 - and people answer.

There's also the "MFP friend" thing. If you go to a person's MFP profile on the app or web, you can send a friend request, or sometimes other people might send them to you. That lets you share some information on timelines, and you can set your food diary so it shows to friends rather than no one or the whole community, if you want to. If other MFP friends have done that, you can look at their diaries, get ideas. (Probably best not to criticize their eating, though, unless they've asked for input on something.)

In addition, especially in the Challenges and Motivations part of this Community forum, you can find out about MFP special interest groups that might help you (like particular eating styles, exercise types, etc.) or join various groups/challenges/threads as part of self-motivation.

Take a little time, look around, participate. You'll figure it out!

    Best wishes!

It is a simple message board system. People post discussions on relevant topics. Pretty simple really.
