Workout routines for shin splints?

I have shin splints and experience a lot of pain when there’s force applied in regards to my lower legs, and unfortunately is also very painfully present even during light exercise such as walking. Are there any recommended general work out routines that could be applied while being able to avoid putting pressure on my legs?

    Stretching them and making sure you have the correct footwear when exercising.
