A Month Without Exercise - Lessons Learned

Work has ramped up considerably and I allowed long busy days and a crazy travel schedule to serve as my excuse to skip my daily 30 minutes of exercise. At the same time - my indefatigable nemesis - the tsunami of road/work food on offer has completely washed away my diet resolve.
Aside from a general increased lumpiness, I have noticed a bit more stiffness when rising after a long sit. My belly and saddlebags quickly reinflated almost two sizes and I experienced general fatigue and a pronounced lack of mental acuity. Ugh!
Today was the first day I got back to a workout and was pleasantly surprised - OK, downright astonished - that I was able to manage 35 minutes of medium cardio without much effort. I expected to be winded after 10.
I now realise that my daily workout is absolutely vital... not for weight maintenance as much as for general all-round health. Anyway, lesson learned!
Carry on.

Indeed.
I find that I adhere to the transfer effect when I'm consistently working out, i.e. I have more desire to eat healthier. So it's a double win.5
