Extreme Weightless: Chihuahua Edition
(insert "Let's Get Physical" music here)
Lillee
Starting Weight: 10.8 Pounds
This Week: 9.05 Pounds
Lacie
Starting Weight: 10.40 Pounds
This Week: 8.12 Pounds
L&L’s fitness tip this week is don’t get discouraged if your pet hits a plateau; you don’t want your pet to lose weight too quickly. Fighting pet obesity is not just about the number on the scale. You may notice other positive changes in your pet, such as an increase in energy or activity level. Lillee didn't lose much weight this week, but she is more active and playful than when she started the program.
Also, if you feel like your pet may be losing weight too quickly, contact your veterinarian to be sure there are no other medical issues. Lacie lost more weight than her sister this week, but we noticed she wasn’t eating much. Turns out that a medication she was taking was giving her an upset tummy, resulting in loss of appetite. Our veterinarians adjusted her medication and her appetite has returned to normal.
Until next week…
