Hello! My name is Anita. I am the daughter of an alcoholic and also over eaters, my family eats whenever physically possible. I have my own family now and it’s very noticeable around other people who aren’t in my family, how much my family eats. I am trying to develop new habits such as not eating between meals.

You'll find that it's the portions that are out of whack. That's why you should weigh and measure all food and drink and stay within your daily calorie goal. THAT'S what your portion should look like. It's hard to retrain yourself when you've grown up to think oversize portions are the norm. It doesn't matter when you eat as long as you hit that daily goal. Fruits and vegetables fill you up for fewer calories, but watch out for the sauces--they need to be measured carefully since they are usually calorie dense.
Good luck.1
