Gotta get this weight down

So I'm on a non stop race against myself to get under 200 pounds. I'm 5 foot 3 inches and feeling down. I just weighed myself yesterday and I'm 215..geesh! I'm starting back walking this week!

The realization that you're not in a good healthy state is the start. Good luck.

    Good goal.

    Race paradigm? Can be short-sighted.

Losing any meaningful amount of weight is a long game: Weeks, months, maybe even multiple years. That's true, even if you go fast.

Then, there's staying at a healthy weight long term, ideally permanently . . . a thing statistics suggest is harder than the loss itself.

Consider prioritizing tactics that are (relatively) easy/sustainable, rather than tactics that may be fast.

Sometimes a moderate loss plan that's easy to stick with will reach goal weight in less calendar time, compared to an aggressive plan that includes slips, steps backwards, compensatory binges, maybe even giving up altogether.

You absolutely can do this. Use shrewd strategies . . . whatever those are for you.

The VAST majority of your progress will happen because of what you eat. Walking is great for you, but it will not be the key to your weight loss success. Log everything, count everything.
