Base Goal meaning?

Hello,
I am new to using the app and I want to lose 1lb per a week as that is what I set my goal to and also lightly active. It gave me a base goal of 1660 calories for a Male at 5’5 tall. I set it to maintain my weight and it gave me around 2100 calories. My question is the 1660 calories is what I need to eat and I can eat up to the goal limit of 1660 and still lose weight as it has already factored into the weight loss so 1660 is what I need to lose one pound. And that I do not need to eat 500 calories below 1660 in order to lose weight right?
Thank you Much Help Appreciated

That's correct. If you've selected a goal weight loss rate, your base calorie goal includes the calorie deficit for that rate of loss, no need to subtract even more calories1

You are correct. Actually you should lose weight as long as you are eating less than 2100 calories per day, albeit a bit slower maybe.
Remember that these numbers are just estimates though and you will need to use the data you get (i.e. measurements/weight loss/gain) in order to make any needed adjustments.1
