Net calories under weekly goal?

Can someone please help me understand this net calories under weekly goal.
I understand it is calorie goal - exercise calories burned.

I am set up to lose 0.5kg (1lbs) a week. Which I understand is roughly a 3500 calorie deficit. On the weekly view, I am 1200 net calories under weekly goal. Is this 1200 calories over and above the 3500 deficit that is set (so 3500 + 1200 = 4700 calorie deficit), or is it saying that I have eaten too much and only in a 2300 deficit this week. (3500 - 1200 = 2300 calories) thanks

If you've chosen a weight loss rate, your calorie goal includes your deficit, so it's a deficit greater than 3500.

PS minor difference but 1lb is a deficit of 3500, 0.5kg is a deficit of around 3850 calories.

    Thanks Lietchi,

So my “1200 net calories under weekly goal”, is an additional 1200 calorie deficit for the week?

Pity the scale does not reflect this 😞

Patience, you need at least a month or menstrual cycle to evaluate your progress, our weight fluctuates daily 🙂 if you've started exercising, that alone can cause water retention, masking fat loss on the scale
