5 lbs down today and grateful for a body that I get to show love!

This year has been full of unexpected medical adventures but I am thank to be on the other side of it. On the upside, I have rediscovered a love for my ONE and only body. I am treating myself with a nutrition coach to help me begin this new journey. So far so good; I am feeling wonderful and although it is a small victory I just wanted to share some joy!

Peace and love,
NCN

Hiring a registered dietician was the best decision I've made on this journey. Great job!

Can you recommend how to find a good one?

I live in CA and googled it. Here's a national group.

What you need is a registered dietician. Anyone can hang out their shingle as a nutritionist. If you have dietary issues, include that with your search. I <3 mine!

Thank you all so much for your sweet comments! We are all on this journey together and I am proud of us all.

In regards to the questions about how to find someone, there are many options. I work in healthcare and my job had resources available for health improvement. You can also search online for reputable nutrition experts like a fellow MFP'er suggested above.

What I have found different this time around are my nutrition coach's recommendations that fit MY life. This includes eating frequency/snacking and types of food that I am excited to eat. A good coach/specialist will ask you questions to tailor a plan that can work long term for you.

Wishing everyone all the best, see you around the chats. Cheers to future celebrations <3

I could not agree more. I have lost almost 60 kg by now and although I did not use a dietitian, I am the first in line to tell people to start by consulting a doctor first and a registered dietitian second. It is important to achieve a weight that is healthy for us and "tips, tricks and hacks" found on random "hey you guys" sites with half-naked young girls on the Internet making lofty claims are not the way to go.
