Idk what to do

So yesterday my coach treated us to Burger King for the end of the season. I really wanted the bacon Burger King, but than I saw it had 1,200 calories and that is my limit for the day. I was already close to hitting it. My friend finally convinced me by saying she was gonna tell coach I’m watching my calories. So I got it. Than I got fries, a milkshake and jalapeño bites. I ate and ate. This is why I have a limit, I will binge if I don’t watch myself. Now today I can’t eat cuz now I have to make up for it.

Not eating because you went over yesterday doesn't seem healthy. You should just start fresh today. Also, if you have a coach I assume you have a sport of some sort. Are you adding back in any exercise calories? 1200 is really low if you are exercising regularly too. I definitely understand having limits so you don't gorge but you don't want to undercut yourself too much either because it's not sustainable.

Agree with pamperdinny. You sound like you are a young, healthy, active person so it is highly unlikely that 1200 calories is an appropriate limit for you. Could you share your height and weight data and how much you exercise so that people might help you figure out a plan that is more workable? If you try to lose weight too quickly you will end up in binge/restrict cycles just like what you are describing now and if you lose any weight you’ll just end up regaining it. On top of that you will be miserable. If you figure out a more gradual rate to lose weight you’ll be able to live a normal life while you do it and won’t have to go through drama at BK when there is a special occasion - you’ll be able to pick something that fits in your calorie limit and enjoy the celebration with your team.

If you went over your goal by 3500 calories, you will gain 1 pound. If you over-ate by 1750 calories, you will gain 1/2 pound. I'd suggest just moving on and eat and proceed normally today.

This was a special event. You're already targeting very low calories (fewer than I'd eat to lose weight as a 66 y/o woman of 5'5" already in a healthy range - I'd lose weight very fast, not get adequate nutrition - betting you need more than I). It sounds like you're hiding your weight management plans from your coach. You're catastrophizing about one day of over-eating. You're planning not to eat today to make up for it. You're defining yourself in a negative way ("I will binge"), and self-definition is a powerful influence.

One day is a drop in the ocean of life. Food is not sin. You don't have to suffer to expiate it. Drama is not helpful. Guilt is unproductive and feels icky. What you need is not extremes, but balance.

I'm sorry to say it, but you are on a bad course, a foot on the slippery slope to long term eating disorders.

Please speak to your doctor, a school nurse, or another trusted mature person. Please.
