Gaining weight

I’m a skinny guy and have always had a fast metabolism and have been in a caloric surplus while keeping macros decent (not just eating processed foods) just wanted to know if there are faster ways to gain weight. Mine seems to fluctuate quite a lot I started off really eating like end of august and have seen an increase in weight from around 116 at 5”9’ or to around 124 at still 5”9’ as of posted. Is that a lot or little and if anyone is in the same situation or has been please give me your insight so I can maximize the weight gain journey!
This is me as of recently and my goal is a lean 135-140 or something like that:

You're on track to add nearly 40 pounds in a year. You can't add muscle that fast, even if you're lifting progressive and loading on protein. Unless you want to add lots of fat, you might want to halve that surplus.1
