Melting Away!

Hi everyone, my name is Joy and I used to be 300 lbs. Today I am 136! I am hoping this app will help me lose the last of my extra weight. I am having trouble getting all my calories in, averaging at about 600-800 a day, while my personal trainer tells me I should be getting 1200. Any tips on getting those extra calories while still eating healthy? I love that I can record my exercise, it's helping me stay on track with my workout plan!

The classic advice for getting more calories if you want healthy foods is nuts, nut butters, seeds, avocados, full fat dairy if you eat dairy, fatty cold water fish (high in Omega-3s), and that sort of thing. Starchy vegetables are also good: Corn, beans, sweet potatoes, whole white potatoes (with skin), and the like - though many people find those things filling. Some fruits are higher calorie, such as bananas. Dried fruits can be less filling than whole fruit - I like mangos, for example. Use dressings and condiments that have more fats in them.
If you're seriously undereating, as it sounds as if you may be, it's really more healthful to get the calories in however you can, even if that means eating some more calorie-dense but nutrition-sparse treat foods. Undereating (losing weight too fast) is unhealthful in itself.0
