Increasing Macros after working out

So I just became a premium member as I am trying to focus more on macros vs calories. With that said, I noticed my “Allowed macros” increase after I do a workout (just like how my calorie goal always went up if I worked out during that day).

My question is, is that actually something that’s recommended, or should I stay within my Macro goal as it is. My protein intake went up to like 215g yesterday due to my workout. That’s a TON.

So what’s the consensus when it comes to increasing macros after working out or not?

Thank you!

Your macros are what make up your calories, so they would have to go up for your calorie target to go up. 4 calories per gram of carbohydrate, 4 calories per gram of protein, and 9 calories per gram of dietary fat. If you have your macros set to %s, they are just going up to match that daily % of total diet. I personally just target protein at around 110-140 grams per day as that jives with .6-.8 of a healthy bodyweight for me. The high end of that is roughly 1 gram per Lb of LBM...after that, more protein is really just making expensive glucose.

Personally, I don't believe protein intake needs to be calculated as a percentage of calories (and therefore increase on exercise days).

    I use this calculator:

In premium, you can change your settings so as not to do that.

I set it so my exercise calories add to my carb goal number, though I don't care if I actually eat those calories as carbs or as something else. I'm trying to hit protein & fat gram goals as minimums (or exceed then), and just use carbs to balance calories.
