Set specific goals.
Pick one thing that you can focus on in the beginning.
Work towards progress, not perfection.
If you struggle on your own, hire a professional that can help you on your journey.

Physical fitness and weight management are two different things, with just a little overlap.
I was pretty fit for over a decade - low resting heart rate, good endurance, objectively decent performance in my sport of choice, reasonably strong - while remaining obese.
Then, I changed my eating habits (not my exercise) and went from obese to a healthy weight.
Both physical fitness and weight management (loss, if needed) have significant quality of life rewards, in my experience. But they're not exactly the same thing.2
