Be aware of your alcohol intake

For most people the weekend or nights out is where most of the damage is done.. its usually not tracked and then over consumption of alcohol likely leads to poor food choices afterwards.
I can't explain all the tips here but in short I would advise that you know what's in your cocktails. This will allow you to better manage your intake. Avoid places that do 2 for 1 all the time. Their business is making money so will most likely be using cheaper sugar heavy ingredients to make it worth their while.
Stick to prohibition style cocktails, these will be the most calorie friendly cocktails with the least amount of sugar. Think Old fashioned,Negroni and Martinis
Spirits with no mixer or soda water will always be your best choice.
Drink whatever makes you happy, but make allowances if you have goals
Be mindful when you drink alcohol. Think beyond the now
Be the boring one.. if you say no, stick to it.. don't let other people guilt trip you onto their path.

The biggest issue with alcohol consumption is that it stops any use of any other energy source until it's metabolized out of the system. That's why it's not advisable to drink before going to bed because one actually burns bodyfat as the preferred energy and if you're in a calorie deficit, it would be extra stored fat. But if alcohol is in your system during time, you burn nada. It's why a lot of bodybuilding/figure competitors abstain from any alcohol during prep for competitions.
