I travel a lot for work and eat out - a lot! I’m challenging myself to make better choices (like no dessert) as we head into the busy Christmas and holiday season…

If this is your challenge let’s connect and help each other along

Eating out is the biggest threat to my longterm Maintenance. No doubt about it.

So, I am honest with myself. I have learned to make other Plans with folks than eating out. (I was the one suggesting we eat out.)

On trips, I pre-cook & bring it with me & book lodging with (at least) a refrigerator & a microwave.

If part of your work requires you to eat dinner out, bings I’ve seen that have worked for others…

    1. Salad & an Hors d’oeuvres
    2. Have them remove bread basket & if others are there, see if you can get it moved farther away from you.
    3. Don’t go to a restaurant too hungry…raw nuts, an apple, or some string cheese.
    4. Order zero calorie beverages & drink them to feel full.
    5. Ask waitperson to box half your meal prior to serving.
    6. Look at on-line menu & plan & pre-log your meal.

    7. And I thought of this after thanksgiving. I don’t chew gum, but I’m going to get some for celebrations & eating out, so I can chew that once I’ve eaten what I should for a
    meal.

    Good Luck!
