49 with a four year old and want to keep up :)

Hello everyone! I've been logging with MFP for a couple weeks now and am down about 8 pounds. I've never logged food and exercise before and am finding it very very helpful in making good food decisions, so I'm optimistic about being able to make some lasting changes in the right direction. I've always been bigger and am heavily boned and heavily muscled and finally accept this as a good thing. But in recent years I've had three abdominal surgeries and have become stiffer and heavier and I don't want to keep going in that direction - it doesn't lead anywhere good.

I have a young daughter and want to, if not keep up with her, not be too far behind, lol.


If there is anyone here who can relate or just wants other people to check in with once in awhile, please friend me! The few friends I've made already here are just such an inspiration and I can see that being so helpful on this journey. Cheers!
