Weight Gain after being sick

So I had 'the bug' or whatever it was, 2 days of diarrhea and throwing up. intake well under usual so in a way I thought I would be artificially very low in weight this morning but the opposite was the case. I know one day does not make a trend. It's just amazing how the body works and that I gained weight by taking in so little calories (being able to hold calories and fluids down). Any reasons for this that people know of? Is this a quick reaction to the body storing up fat and calories during body stress like happens when we are pretty sick? Thank You!

It's not fat, that's for sure. Our bodies work in mysterious ways 🤷🏻♀️2

Could be a number of reasons...inflammation from your illness, or maybe before you got sick, you did some extra exercise or consumed more sodium. If you're a woman, could be hormone-reflated. Yeah, bodies are weird.1

Immune responses are by nature an inflammatory process, so it's water/inflammation.6
