Need a swift kick in the butt!

I am new to MFP, but not new to trying to lose weight. I am 5'9 228 lbs 27 y/o/f. I wish to get down to 150 lbs. I am also type 1 diabetic. For many reasons, I need to do this. I have tried and failed... many times. I do not have my actual picture up because I feel free if I don't. I feel as if I can say anything or do anything without a picture for someone to recognize me from this area. I need someone to help keep me straight and let me have it when I get off track. Please, feel free to add me.

Make a list of why you want to do this. Put it where you can see it everyday. Then look into a diabetic cookbook and come up with alternatives you like. Do a little excerise everyday. even if its only 10 minutes. Its important to keep moving. Don't do cookie cutter routines if that's not you. Get up and dance, go for a walk, whatever gets you moving. I am a 30 yr old mom. I gained a lot of weight when my daughter was born. I had very low energy. I have gotten up and started moving even when I don't feel like it. After a month of this, I've lost 15 pounds and my energy is way up. I hope you keep it up. Rooting for you!
  • Hi, I'm a 51 year-old woman from VT who loses weight at the speed of a turtle! :) That said, I'd be happy to encourage you in your journey, whether that's a woot woot or get yer butt moving! :) Feel free to add me.

I am fairly new, but I was lucky enough to get involved in some challenges here.

Here is one I am just starting. It is amazing how having to report to people influences your behaviour!

Feel free to add me. MFP and the community support has helped me in so many different ways.
