I'm a 71 year old retired art teacher living with my loving cat M & M . Over the years, with the aid of medications, I have put on weight and the years and college skateboard years have made exercising difficult. I restrict my exercise to needlecrafts; knitting, crochet, needlepoint and embroidery. I did explore stained glass until standing for long periods became impossible. Until the pandemic I acted as my sister's wildlife spotter as we explored the UP of Michigan.

Hi, and welcome!
I'm 67, F, retired, widowed, have been on MFP for about 7 years now (loss for about a year, maintenance since). I enjoy some of the crafts you do, like crocheting, but also some other ones like jewelry making and visual journaling. (I failed at knitting, and - like you - did stained glass for a while but have since given it up.)
I guess . . . maybe since I didn't skateboard in college? . . . that I've been more lucky on the exercise front: I didn't start being athletically active until my mid-40s, so there are still some forms of exercise that my body will put up with. I have to say, at this stage that there's quite a variety of exercise options for us seniors on YouTube and such, for all levels of current capability. Silver Sneakers and AARP have some online options, and there's lots on YouTube of course. Even if those are out of reach, if you have weight management goals, that's more about food than exercise IME. (I didn't appreciably change my exercise routine to lose weight, just got a better handle on calories.)
Do you live in Michigan? The UP is a beautiful place! In Michigander/Michiganian terms, I'm a "troll" - living in the palm of the mitten for 40-some years now, after growing up North of Grand Rapids.
If you haven't seen it yet, you might want to check out this thread:

There are lots of people our age there, for mutual support. Don't panic if you open it up and see old posts. Like any long-running thread here on MFP, the newest posts are at the end, on the high-numbered pages. You can use the arrow/number links near the bottom of that first page to navigate straight to the new part. (That said, I'd recommend reading the last 2-3 pages to get some feel for the participants and flow of "conversation".) Don't be afraid to post there!
Wishing you much success on MFP, whatever your goals may be!0
