HIIT: 20 minutes high intensity or 45 minutes low intensity?

For the past couple days, my HIIT workout thirty second sprint at 11.5 (sometimes 12.0), and walking at 3.7-4.0, sometimes resting completely for a few moments. The workout takes 23 minutes, including the five minute warm up beforehand.

But, I've been brought up that you have to have at least 30 minutes of exercise to see any results. There was one discussion where someone did a two minute walk at 4.0, a two minute run at 6.0 and alternated for 45 minutes. They lost results five pounds in two weeks.

As far as comparison with these two HIIT workouts, is the latter better? The treadmill indicates that I burn around 250-270 calories with the workout I do.

Either method will be fine. Ignore the calories burned as it will be inaccurate. The advantage of the more intense method is the time saved. The advantage of the less intense method is that it's easier on your body.

Thanks. I guess that means I'm sticking to what I was doing.
